     In East Asian culture, thread symbolizes “yeon (缘),” or fate—a medium that connects relationships, and even life and death itself. The main materials in the work, samsil (hemp thread) and mosi (ramie thread), are substances deeply rooted in the soil, holding both universal and localized significance. Through weaving with Andong samsil and Hansan mosi—natural materials tied to Korean heritage—the work explores the immaterial value of “temporal continuity,” connecting past, present, and future through the act of textile making.
